Security Tips for your Home and Garden
It won't be long now before those clocks go back [Sunday 30th October] and the nights getting darker earlier. Now would be quite a good time to assess your outdoor lighting to ensure that you have adequate lighting when and where you need it most. The key is to make sure that those dark areas are illuminated when accessed.
* Keep all windows and doors locked when
leaving the house.
* Keep garage/shed doors locked.
* Don't leave bikes, ladders unlocked, keep
them attached to immovable objects.
* Fit adequate floodlighting.
* Make sure fencing is in good order.
* Leave spare keys with a trusted neighbour. * Don't be tempted to leave under a stone or
in a box.
* Remove packaging from newly purchased
items - recycle or take to waste unit at
your
earliest convenience.
* Leaving expensive items on show presents
temptation, if possible, leave them out of
view.
